Hanwha(South Korean Company) Defense has secured a contract worth over $3.4 billion (AUD 4.8 billion) with the Australian Department of Defence.

Hanwha Company : The contract is for supplying 30 K-9 Thunder self-propelled howitzers and 15 K-10 ammunition resupply vehicles for the Australian Army.
Hanwha Defense will establish a local production facility in Geelong, Victoria, to build and assemble the vehicles, with the aim of creating local job opportunities and bolstering the Australian defense industry. The Australian government anticipates this move will add significant value to the nation’s economy while enhancing their military capabilities.
This contract further solidifies Hanwha’s global presence in the defense sector and showcases South Korea’s strength in exporting high-quality military equipment. The K-9 Thunder is recognized for its exceptional firepower and mobility, making it an excellent choice for the Australian Army’s artillery upgrade program.
